Pedro Gallese signs for Orlando City - Added using TAM
Orlando City SC have signed Pedro Gallese from Alianza Lima according to a report by SBI Soccer on Monday, Jan. 6. That report was confirmed by the club on Friday, Jan. 17. Gallese will be added to the Lions roster using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).
Update Jan. 17: “We are very excited to welcome Pedro to our roster," Orlando City EVP of Soccer Operations Luiz Muzzi said in a club statement. "He is a proven goalkeeper at both the club and international levels with World Cup experience on his resume."
The 29-year-old Gallese has been Peru's starting goalkeeper since 2015. Last summer he helped his country reach the final of the Copa América where Las Blanquirroja were defeated 3-1 by Brazil.
Last season Gallese had 26 league appearances for Alianza Lima last season in which he posted four clean sheets. He helped his club to reach the Liga 1 final where they lost to Deportivo Binacional over two legs.
Alianza initially had signed Gallese on loan from Veracruz. Los Tiburones Rojos, however, were disaffiliated by Liga MX due to ongoing financial problems in December, which makes Gallese a free agent ahead of the 2020 Major League Soccer season.
